Breast Enlargement: Why You May Not Be Able to Go As Large As You Want

breast enlargements
You're so excited! You are finally going to have the bust-line you've always wanted you are getting breast implants. For whatever reason you want breast enlargement-genetics, weight loss, pregnancy, you are smaller than you want to be and the temptation is to go as large as you can.

If you're going to get it done, why not do it, right? Well, the problem is that you may not be able to get the size you want. There are really two determining factors, physical and legal, that can prevent you from going as big as you want with breast enlargement surgery.

Physical Constraints

First of all, the actual size of the breast prior to surgery is a huge determining factor in the ultimate size. The base diameter shows what will and what won't fit naturally under the skin. Also, if there is little skin and tissue to work with, expanding the area damages the skin and pulls it which can create an unnatural and unattractive bust-line and also warp the shape of the implants.

Also, if you have a small frame-short with a narrow chest-a larger size is not recommended. It looks unnatural and if your body is unable to support the extra weight it can lead to other problems such as back and neck pain. This can lead to removal or reduction of the implants, which means another surgery.

Availability Constraints

Excessive breast enlargement can also become an availability issue. First of all, you may have a difficult time finding a surgeon who will even take you to the size you want. Secondly, you will also have to supply the implant if you do find one.

The largest implant available in the U.S. is 850ccs with a maximum fill size of 920ccs. This is because anything larger crosses way over the line of natural-looking for any body type. If you are in an occupation such as exotic dance or adult film, having excessive breast enlargement surgery will cost you a lot of money because of the risks from the procedure itself plus you will have to import the implants.

During your consultation your plastic surgeon, will evaluate your body structure as well as the amount of tissue in the area. He will be able to tell you if the size you want is feasible for you. If it isn't, he will suggest ways for the best results possible. Some "surgeons" may be more than willing to give the size you want and even encourage you to go for larger ones.

However, this can turn into a big mistake if your frame can't support them. To avoid bad advice and risky procedures, verify your surgeon's credentials. He should be board certified and licensed to practice plastic surgery. If you are really concerned, find a surgeon who specializes in breast enlargement procedures.

Increasing your bust-line can give your confidence and self-esteem big boosts, but bigger is not always better. Be prepared when you go for consultation as the size you want may not be suitable for you.
